The Long awaited Power Amp Afro-Music Xplosion finally came to happen on the nite of 7th December 2018 at Club Trenton in Ongata Rongai.
It was full of fun and glamour as the fans started streaming in as early as 7pm heading straight to the red carpet as they chill on their respective corners as their tickets dictated. The artist who performed were Nigerian Signed Qritiqal , Jamaica Signed Frankie Dee, Bella, Badscar, Legion, Leke Mani from Lagos Nigeria , Drizz Da Singa from Kampala, Reece, Gene Bakari , Sharonae, Shairiki ,Zamora , Collonizo, Herbkid , Lamaric Lyre , Kaylore , Sinatra, Panyiro ,Vee the Ness, Vien , Manilla , Takecare and Dface, Emojee, Skwinchi among others.
The international Artist invited were Drizz Da Singa from Uganda and Leke Mani from Nigeria who are also recording artist at Abriels Studios in Kenya. FJ and Konkel did not show up for the event due to other commitments.
Running the show was MC. Zodiac with DJ Spannerbuoy on the wheels of steel and Kris Selector on Serato playlist. A local based crew dubbed the Legion Gang that composed of Dimlight, Rickblack also known as ‘Cheusi Medicine’, Venom and Munga; brought things to a standstill when they took to stage some few minutes to 2am. The stage was lit to the fullest with their fans singing their lyrics from their hearts as they scream with their hands up on air.
Bella, a Kenyan based Rnb Dancehall artist from Nairobi had her share of shine as she performed her brand new singles, Don’t go featuring zikki and The Way i Wine respectively. The dancers could not keep the pace of her sensational stage moves and sometimes they just stood at watched as she shows her up and down set of whines that left the hyenas “fisis” wagging their tongues out for more.
However Panic engulfed the fans when power temporarily sighed off due to the heat of the show but the management was swift to fix the issue and the party animals got back on the dance floor safe and sound.
Fans could feel the energy when Rongai based Harcore Dancehall artist, the Badscar owned the stage with his single dubbed Vile Naiffeel ; the way i feel it. He killled it with his latest track Kill Dem but before that there was Frankie Dee, A recording artist signed in Kingston Jamaica. His single, Ting ti go got everybody behinds banging to the beat and he signs off with his latest dancehall hit, the Sunshine Gal.
At some minute to 4: in the morning , came the time for the guest artist; Qritiqal of Weak Inside Dancehall hit of 2014 . Now signed in Nigeria under chocolate city record Label, he graced the event with his stunning performance of Malkia, Won’t Tell and African Love singles. The event then got into hype moment where the guest dj from Mzuqa Show of KTN brought ever one on the dance floor with his five minute set of mix as Skwinchi of Zimeshika Sana family, a Rongai based cypher artist; was handed over the microphone to show his prowess and battle it out with other freestylers on Rambo Kanambo instrumental.
